reading

sometimes when i can't find our little reese that means that she has snuck off to read in tanner's bed.   she loves that little bed.  she pulls the covers up and grabs a bunch of books and read, reads, reads (or at least pretends). 

if i'm in the room with her then she wants me to get everything ready saying things like,
"i want covers" or  "i wants lots of books"

this little girl is great at finding ways to entertain herself!

we just love this little brynn of ours.  she's a happy little thing!

 

brynn isn't necessarily attached to her binky, but she does love to play with it.  from a very young age she has loved to grab onto it, then plays with it instead of letting it sit in her mouth.

vacation week

the week after christmas tyler had a whole week off! we loved having him all to ourselves!   in that one week, i only took one picture.  pretty pathetic, but i guess i was having fun with the everyone.

during that week we:
-went down to orem for the day to hang out with the grover family
-went to jump around utah
-family movie night (picture below)
-tyler tried taking the older kids to a dollar movie, but it was sold out
they went and got ice cream instead
-the rec center for swimming
-walked around station park to use gift cards from christmas.  the kids
played on the outdoor playground a bit as well

reese and the scriptures

one afternoon after church we all popped upstairs to change out of our church clothes.  reese got left downstairs and when we came back, we found her all alone pretending to read the scriptures.  she was very proud of herself and said, "i reading scriptures." 

christmas day

after we opened up presents at our house, we headed out to the hedins to skype with caleb and to open more presents.

grandma and grandpa hedin gave katelyn this doll storage, but her great grandpa hedin made it, so i grabbed a picture of them together.

we also skyped with my family that day, ate a delicious breakfast and a delicious late lunch together and opened presents.  it was a fun day!

christmas morning

we had such a fun christmas morning with the kids.   we loved seeing their expressions as they came down the stairs and saw that santa had come.  christmas is so magical with kids.

the hedin christmas eve

every year the hedins hold a christmas eve gathering at their house.  the past two years it actually hasn't been held on christmas eve, but a little earlier. i think it's perfect though!  we're able to do some of their christmas eve traditions while still doing ours on the real christmas eve.  not to mention we have the evening to wrap up the kids christmas presents before they wake up the next day.  yeah, we're last minute present wrappers at our house.  

 

the kids all got to decorate this huge gingerbread men.  they were so cute and really fun for the kids to decorate.

afterwards the kids got to open their new christmas jammies from grandma and grandpa.  they also got some christmas books for each family.  it was a fun night.
