time with daddy

reese loves spending time with her daddy!

reese is a very snuggly little thing.  when she's tired she'll lay down and snuggle for a bit before going to bed.

reese turns one

little reeser has officially been with our family for one whole year!  we love our reese to bits and pieces.  isn't it amazing how each little child joins your family and in their own little way they better it?  her sweet personality has definitely blessed our family.  we love her more and more each day.

mom and dad with the birthday girl

i decided on a very simple rainbow theme.  i realized long ago i don't enjoy going all out for birthdays.  so as you can see, we just kept it simple with fruit, juice, cupcakes, fishies and skittles.  it left me more time to focus on reese!

the cupcake smash.  reese has already had her fair share of sweets, so i thought for sure she'd dig in when the time came.  instead she was confused and a little nervous.  she just couldn't figure out how to eat a cupcake all by herself.  by the way, this is a ton of pictures, but being the mom, i couldn't narrow  it down.

what am i supposed to do with this thing?

presents!  again, she wasn't sure what to expect.  especially when her older siblings kept taking all of the presents away from her.

all in all it was a fabulous day.  we love you reesie!

reese at eleven months

we sure love our reeser.  she is a joy to have in our home.  she is such a pleasant little thing with a playful personality.  she is still a bump on a log with no desire to crawl.  at eleven months she is as cuddly as ever.  we love her smiles and her laugh and love that anytime she hears any kind of beat she'll begin dancing.  we love you reese!

random january pictures

january kind of went by in a blur.  normally january drags by, but this time, it was february before i knew it.  i don't remember every detail, but i do know we were happy, not so healthy and missing tyler with his busy work schedule.

monkey reese and monkey tanner

we also re-started potty training with tanner.  second time around was much more of a success than last time.  phew.

we played in the playroom a ton.  one afternoon katelyn was playing around and ended up with hair that was sticking straight up!

reese enjoys my lens cap. let's hope she's a camera lover someday.

the kids thought it was the funniest thing to put reese in this box.  reese was indifferent.

bowling

one afternoon, we decided to take all of the kids out to try their hand at bowling down at byu.  it was so fun to be back at byu. so many fun memories! not much seemed to have changed except that all of the students looked awfully young.  did we really look that young back then?

reese hadn't napped yet that day and was so tired.  erin held her until she fell asleep.

ellie also zonked on the way there and stayed asleep for a little bit in her carseat.

tyson is hoping for a strike

my favorite part of this picture is that i caught tyson picking his nose in the background.

ellie waiting patiently to see what would happen with her ball.

i took a picture of this to show that tanner got a final score of 108!  yes, they had bumpers, but all of the other kids got a score in the 50s or 60s, and he got over 100.  i was impressed.

and althought reese didn't stay asleep the whole time, she was pretty content for a while.

visiting the mayfields

while michelle and jared were here we stopped by the mayfields for a visit. they were so kind to have us all over with our crazy kids.  they even prepared a nice lunch with a delicious dessert for everyone.  what a treat!

we realized when we got there that all of us ladies were wearing stripes, so we took a matching picture.

the three year old boy cousins were all sitting on the couch together, so we took some pictures.  i love the personalities that shine through in pictures like these.

christmas day

wouldn't you know on christmas day i took one picture!  and reese isn't even in it.  she was still asleep, so we started without her.

christmas was a lovely day.  it ended up being jam packed from sunup to sundown.  that is such a change from how we're used to things on christmas day.  i think next year we will cut back a little so we can enjoy more time with our kiddos.

but the kids loved opening presents and were thrilled when they received things they had asked for from santa.

hedin christmas eve

grandma and grandpa hedin held an early christmas eve get together for everyone in the family.  the kids were so excited to get together.  they even had a special guest show up to surprise them with some gifts.  katelyn and tanner were thrilled and reagan was scared out of her mind.

each kid got to sit on santa's lap so they could tell him what they wanted for christmas.  then santa gave each of them a present.

reese didn't think santa was so great.
