egg hunt

sunday evening we went over to grandma and grandpa hedin's house to have an easter dinner.  the kids also got to participate in another easter egg hunt.  this easter egg hunt had around 130 eggs, so there were plenty to go around. 

 

as soon as the kids stepped outside their eyes all grew wide because everywhere they looked they could see a new egg.  even with 130 eggs, it was over quickly.  the kids ran around as fast as they could collecting them all.  when it was through, they sat looking through each egg.  some had candy and some eggs had money in it.  the kids definitely made out with quite a haul!

easter sunday

i really love easter.  i love that we can focus even more on the life, death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.    i know He lives and because of Him, we can live together as families forever!

 

this year grandma hedin bought all of the kids new easter outfits. they all looked so darling and they were each eager to model their new outfits. 

brynn at 7 months

brynn is a sweet little thing at seven months.  she sure is a cute thing.  she loves, loves, loves her mommy and really likes me in her sights.  she'll play on the ground for a long time with the kitchen play food, her letters, our play house and other toys we give her.  when she's done though she lets us know it.  she'll start calling out loudly until someone comes to get her.  brynn really enjoys eating now.  she still prefers nursing over solids (of course) but she is tasting more.  the solids do not sit well in her tummy, so she gets extremely constipated.  she has to eat prunes every day and that only helps a little bit.  this girl is quick to give out smiles, especially to strangers, but she won't go to them!  she won't be crawling any time soon, but that's okay with me.  brynn is a great napper and still a terrible night sleeper.  tyler and i have gotten used to feeling sleep deprived because she wakes up anywhere between 6-7 times a night.  on a good night she'll only wake up 4-5 times.  we still love this little stinker though. 

building blocks

the two older kids are getting really creative these days.  if we pull out blocks or legos, they'll play with them for hours creating all sorts of things. 

 

tanner created a flower garden in the back and a fence that has water between it.

katelyn created a city with a jail, a post office and a school.

soccer game

tanner had his first soccer game!  i think it is pretty funny watching 3-4 year old kids play their first soccer game.  this time, tanner was pretty focused in the beginning.  he ran hard and chased the ball, and i was really proud of him.

  after about fifteen minutes of running, he was done and started acting more like last year.  he wrestled on the field with another distracted team mate, he picked and threw grass at the other unsuspecting soccer players, and he rolled around on the field and played around in the goals.  all of that was probably my favorite part because it's so funny to watch. 

this is about when he started getting distracted. 

here his coach was working hard to reign him in and stay focused.  very typical of tanner.  i'd imagine this is what tyler and i look like most of the time we're talking to tanner.  we sure love that little guy.

neighborhood easter egg hunt

we were able to attend our neighborhood easter egg hunt.  i really do enjoy attending this event, but every year i feel a little frazzled.  i want to follow my kids around snapping photos, but as soon as someone yells go, they're gone.  i typically can't find them until the eggs are gone and the "searching" is done. 

 

luckily reese had katelyn following her because reese was walking by all of the eggs not knowing that she was supposed to collect them.  tanner on the other hand knew exactly what he was doing and collected about 25 eggs in his bucket.  he was only supposed to collect ten, so we sat down together and took out all of the extras.

 

afterwards  the kids ran around on the playground with all of the other kids.  they had fun!

back to tummy time

there was a time when i was really good at doing tummy time with brynn.  once she rolled over though, it ended that.  as it goes for most babies, once she realized she didn't have to be on her tummy, she just wouldn't stay on it.  but now, i'm thinking it's time to do tummy time again.  this girl isn't the strongest, and i think being on her tummy will help encourage her to crawl eventually (i'm in no rush).  we'll see how it goes though.  she wasn't as thrilled with the idea as i was.

sickie

this is what we've been doing the past couple of days at our house.  poor reese has come down with a stomach bug, but thankfully it's been very mild.  she's mostly been laying around, sipping sprite and watching t.v. shows.  here's to hoping she gets better soon! 

cute little treat

one of the moms i teach preschool with ended up getting sick and was unable to teach.  she had already prepared everything and didn't want her cute treats to go to waste, so she dropped them off for the kids to eat. tanner didn't really eat it because it was made of jello, and he's never liked jello.  but he sure had fun digging in it and making a big mess with it.

peek-a-boo

this little lady learned how to play peek-a-boo, and i think it's the cutest thing.  we give her a little blanket, then start saying over and over, where's brynn, where's brynn?  if she's in the mood she'll grab her blanket and hide her face, then quickly pulls it down so we can see her.  we love this little girl and love seeing all of the fun things she's learning.

 

 

 

squishy nose

reese was out playing in the backyard the other morning and came to the screen door to tell me something. when i got to her i found her pressing her nose against the door.  two things come to mind when i see these pictures.  first, i think it's hilarious to see what someone's squished nose looks like.

second, i love reese's nose just the way it is.
