brigham city temple open house

our family had the chance to attend the brigham city temple open house.  it was wonderful to go together as a family.

before hand, katelyn was letting me take some pictures of her beautiful little self.

tanner was zonked on the couch.  he is phasing out naps these days.  he's in that in-between phase where he really could use some extra sleep during the day.  however, we don't want him to or he doesn't go to bed until 10 or later.

the temple was so beautiful and the weather couldn't have been nicer.

emily and reagan were able to come with us.

the fair

no summer is complete without hitting up the fair.  this year we went to a nice, small fair in weber (i think.  it's been a while).  i actually loved the small town feel of this fair.  we were planning on spending our whole evening there, but it got cut short by a bad storm.  we even had to run indoors for a bit while we waited for the wind to die down.

checking out the horses.

reese is always such a great sport sitting in her carseat in the stroller.

tyler wanted to show reese some animals up close.  we thought she'd get a kick out of seeing them, but instead, she started bawling.

reagan on the other is an animal-lover.

once the rain finally stopped we ventured once more, only to have it start pouring again.  we had to run for cover under this tent where the kids had fun feeding some goats.

this little horse was born the night before.  it was pretty cute to see such a new little animal huddled up close to its mom.

wheeler farm

living close to at least one sibling is so great!  erin and i have made an effort to get together at least once a week.  it's been fun seeing our kids get to know each other better.  one of those weeks we headed out to wheeler farm.  it was hot, hot, hot that day, but it was still fun.

feeding the ducks.

then we moved on to the geese.  they were a little more aggressive and there were a lot more of them.  so after throwing a little bit of our bread to them, the kids started tossing whole pieces to get them away.

erin and her kids who willingly posed for a picture.

then there were my kids.  this is the best one we got.

reese was there too trying to dodge the sun in the stroller.

katelyn goes to kindergarten

katelyn is old enough for kindergarten.  we talked about her going to school for quite some time, so when the day finally came, she was very excited.  she wore her new clothes she picked out with grandma hedin, put on her new backpack from grandma bastian and patiently waited while i took too many pictures.

since tanner is katelyn's sidekick, he had to have some pictures taken as well.

katelyn got to meet her new teacher and just loves her.  her teacher sent all of the kids on a fun scavenger hunt to get to know the classroom a little better.

reese at six months

we love our reesers! she is growing up, but no growing very big.  at six months she was a tiny 11 lbs 4 oz.  her doctor wants us to try fatten her up, but isn't too worried about her weight just yet. reese has turned into the biggest squawker!  she is always talking and making noises.  she is also a very social baby.  she loves people and loves smiling for anyone.  she still hasn't learned to sit up yet.  she also does not enjoy being on her tummy, so it will probably take her a long time to learn to crawl.

rice cereal

i love giving my babies rice cereal for the first time.  their reactions are always pretty funny.  reese certainly didn't disappoint us.  she wasn't interested at first, but warmed up to it after we all laughed at her reaction.  then she was grabbing the spoon for more and was full of smiles (although the pictures don't show it)!  we love this little girl.

back to school shopping

grandma took katelyn back to school shopping before she started kindergarten.  katelyn was so excited to go on a special date with grandma.  grandma was so nice to katelyn and even let her pick out her own clothes.  everything she came back with was very cute!  thanks grandma.

swimming

we have just loved having a neighborhood swimming pool.  it's fun to get the kids more accustomed to the water, to meet old/new friends there, and to invite family for an evening of swimming.

the guys with the kids.  reese really loved the chilly pool.

we brought along dinner and dessert to enjoy while swimming.  it was a very nice night.

reese at five months

reese at five months!  how time flies with number three.  reese is one content little baby, definitely our most content.  she is still a floppy little thing and not sitting up yet.  she seems like she wants to, but she isn't.  she is starting to talk more, smile more and laugh more.  how we love this sweet, content little one.
