softball

we finally got a chance to see tyler play at one of his softball games.  he had signed up with his brother and some other friends to pay on a rec softball team. they played every thursday night, always at a different time.  going wasn't always feasible with four kiddos, especially on a school night because he would always get home so late.  finally though, he played nice and early in the evening so we jumped at the chance to see him play.  the kids didn't do a ton of watching, but they loved being there.

katelyn loves holding brynn!  she really does a great job, and it's nice to have someone else to help me out during the day.

the kids had about a thousand drinks from the water fountain.  they kept going back and back and back again.

lagoon

we spent a fun day at lagoon with the hedin family.  our kids were counting down the days until this particular saturday arrived.  we got there shortly after the park opened and stayed until dinner time.  the kids had so much fun and were completely worn out when the day was done.

tanner thought this part of the train ride was stinky

brynn was a champ and stayed in her stroller most of the day sleeping, eating and people watching.

every time reese saw katelyn come around on this ride, reese would laugh and giggle.  she thought it was the funniest thing seeing katelyn riding this ride.

this was actually one of the two rides reese enjoyed, even though her face says the complete opposite.

elle's party

we were so lucky to be able to join cousin elle for a birthday celebration.  the party was a blast.  the kids searched for buried treasures, did an art project and played some fun party games. plus, erin and thomas were brave and generous and made everyone lunch.  it's always a good time at the grover home.

brynn was a little unsure about grandma, but she slowly warmed up to her.

smores

our neighbors invited us out with a couple of other families to make some smores around their fire pit.  it turned out to be the best night for this.  there was just the tiniest chill in the air, so the fire was perfect.  the smores and hot dogs were delish and the company was even better (really, we are surrounded by awesome people).  plus, the kids never complain when they get to spend extra time outside with friends.

piano recital

katelyn had her second piano recital, and she did a fantastic job!  it was fun to see how she had progressed in just six short months.  katelyn played three songs and sang the words to all of them.  she loves to sing her piano songs and luckily her teacher is on board with that.  katelyn absolutely adores her teacher, but she does not adore the practicing part as much as she did when she first started.  we're proud of our little katelyn.

growing up

this little lady is growing up right before my eyes.  she is only one month away from two and a half.  honestly, how did that creep up so fast?  when katelyn was two and a half we had her out of the crib and we were getting ready to potty train.  with reese, i haven't even thought about those two things.  she still seems so little to me.

reese is starting to fight naptime.  not the going to sleep part, just the actual going in her room because it's naptime part.  once she's in her crib she drifts right off, but she does not want to stop playing to go to bed!  every once and a while i give in and let her stay up.  around 4 or 5 in the afternoon i always regret that decision. she's so tired she can barely stand it, so naptime is sticking around a little longer.

preschool graduation

to kick off the end of our preschool year, we put on a little preschool graduation for the kids and their parents.  since there were only six kids in our group, it was a cozy event, and was absolutely perfect!

the kids sang some songs and said their memorized parts (which tanner refused to memorize, but oh well!).  at one point tanner got a hold of the microphone and sang every last song into that thing.  he was heard loud and clear.  how we love that kid!

hats off to a successful year of preschool.

bubbles

the kids have fallen in love with bubbles lately.  we've spent many mornings outside on the back porch blowing bubbles.  this particular morning the kids wanted to get out the bubbles because katelyn had earned a fun, new bubble kit at school.  they wanted to try it out for themselves.

as you can see there was lots of spilling going on.  we are now officially out of bubbles, but the kids had fun!
