tyler turns 30

tyler turned the big 3-0 this year!  for his birthday he went golfing for free at a golf course nearby with his brother, andy.  if it is your birthday, and if you can prove it, then you get a free round.

i think the fingers have something to do with his score, but i don't speak golf very well, so i can't really say.

i think the whole day i was wanting to take a picture of the newly turned 30 year old with his kids.  we ended up waiting until the last minute lighting wise to finally take one.  and i'm not sure if tanner is capable of taking a "normal" picture.

later that night we invited tyler's family over to eat some cake and ice cream with us.
i saw this idea on pinterest to use matches to write the numbers 3-0 on the cake.  this sounded so fun, but instead, it just burned up faster than i could light all of the matches.  pinterest failed me.

katelyn reading to reese

katelyn really is a fantastic sister.  one afternoon she grabbed some of reese's books and read to her.  reese was loving it.

this animal book is reese's all time favorite book.

reese and the bathroom mirror

when i get ready in the mornings, i grab reese and sit her in the bumbo on my bathroom counter.  don't worry, i stand right behind her.  reese love sitting up on the counter and especially loves watching herself in the mirror.

eating solids

reese really loves table food. if we are eating anything in front of her, she has to have it.  she wiggles her hands and fingers and gets this pained look on her face until we share with her.  it's pretty cute and hard for us to resist.

katelyn is such a great big sister and loves to be near reese.

silly boy

tanner is our really crazy, silly kid.  he's always doing things to make us laugh and keep us on our toes.

reese at eight months

reese is such a joy at eight months. she is still as tiny as ever. she is a great napper and is great at letting us lug her aroud on errands. her favorite thing right now is taking a bath, especially with katelyn or tanner. she will do everything in her power to get in that bath when it is running. she is finally a confident sitter and can sit in a cart all by herself. reese loves her solids, except peas. she literally gags and cries when we try to feed her peas. reese is currently working on getting some teeth. we love this girl!

trampoline fun

this summer, our kids discovered that our neighbors have a trampoline in their backyard.  they loved this discovery and took every opportunity to play on the tramp when they could.  even when our neighbors weren't home.  one day, when we have a bigger backyard, we'll probably own one as well.
