camping

grandma and grandpa hedin purchased a camping trailor this summer that they wanted to put to good use.  they invited anyone who was avaiable to come camping with them, so we joined them.  well, when i say we i actually mean tyler, katelyn and tanner joined them.  we were all there for the evening enjoying the beautiful weather and the good food, but i left at nightfall to take the two little ones home to sleep in their own beds.

the kids were beyond excited to help out with the tent.

brynn loved wandering around in her homemade knee pads.  these have been necessary all summer since we are outside so much and she was still crawling.

pioneer day parade

the gang at the pioneer day parade.  i've officially given up on trying to get everyone to look, but hey, there is documentation of the event.  we were there, it was fun, and the kids got plenty of candy that if i remember correctly they finished off by the time we got to the car.

days of 47 float preview

the grovers and hedins are keeping the tradition alive to attend the days of 47 float preview together.  it's our third year to meet up!   my favorite part is that each year the floats are totally different, so even though we are walking around doing the same thing each year, it feels new.   the kids are used to this by now and know to watch out for their favorite float because they get to vote after seeing all of them.  yay for traditions.

these two girls are best friends.  honestly, when they are together they are inseperable and get along so well.

this was a favorite in our group. the dinosaur moved it's head side to side and even opened it's mouth and roared.

the kids each got to dress up like their ancestors.

and of course, we always end the activity with some balloons.

swimming lessons

we decided it was finally time to get tanner into some swim lessons.  we had put it off for far too long!  my friend found a girl in the area who charged a little less than the rec center, did swimming lessons in a private heated pool with small class sizes, and the lessons were over in a week and a half.  perfect for us!

we signed up with two of tanner's friends from our neighborhood.  these kids are also in a preschool group together.

by the end tanner was a great swimmer.  obviously he doesn't really have the strokes down, but he can swim through the water on his own.

fourth of july

we had such a fun fourth of july.  we spent the morning watching the city parade.  this year we ended in the sun, so it we were roasting the whole parade!  the kids didn't seem to mind too much since they were able to gather a ton of candy.

reese's huge load of candy about half way through the parade.

the kids snagged some free sunglasses.  they were looking pretty hip

we found uncle parker!  he made sure to plenty of treats at the kids.

fiiz

to celebrate katelyn's last day of school, a friend and i took our kids to a place called fiiz to get the kids some fun drinks.  the kids each got to choose their own, and they loved them! it was a fun way to celebrate.

end of year program

katelyn's first grade end of year program was cute, cute, cute!  her awesome teacher prepared a whole program on things they had learned throughout the year.  the kids all had some skits they had worked on and prepared that they presented.  there were also some cute songs thrown in as well.  katelyn did a great job and loved performing in front of everyone.

katelyn was so lucky to have grandma and grandpa bastian come watch her performance.  they were still in town from our family reunion and were able to come up to watch.  a rare treat for sure!

grandma and grandpa hedin came to watch as well.  katelyn loved having them there.

katelyn's fantastic teacher!  we sure loved her and miss her this year.
