a visit to the park

we have really been enjoying this warm weather we've been having.  we 've been trying to get outside as much as possible while still trying to get inside jobs taken care of.  even though we have a park practically in our backyard, we don't go that much.  it's so much easier to just go outside in our front yard to let the kids run around and play on their bikes.  but i try to get to the park every once and a while since the kids enjoy it.

this was brynn's first time sitting in the big seat in the stroller. she watched everyone playing with wide eyes.  it's a whole new perspective for her.

reese loves to spend almost the entire time in the swing when we go to the park.

t.v. watching

yes, my kids do spend time watching t.v. and as their mother, i enjoy that down time!  maybe that;s horrible!  reese is still young enough that the t.v. gets boring, so she often doesn't sit through a whole show.  this particular day we had been out and about, so she was definitely tired by the time the show got turned on.  i just thought she looked so funny taking it easy.  she also decided to be a little silly once i started taking pictures.

visiting the grandparents

growing up i didn't get to see my grandparents a ton because we lived in texas and they lived in utah.  obviously it was just too far to visit frequently.  we did always make a special trip up to utah every summer, which i loved, to visit with them.  grandma and grandpa's house holds a lot of memories for me.

now i consider myself very fortunate to live so close to my grandpa and diane.  i love them very much and love that my kids are getting to know them.  although i'm sure i don't visit as often as i should, i do enjoy the time we have together.

momma's girl

i really love this sweet, happy, smiley little girl.  she is a momma's girl through and through. she prefers to be held by me and loves to have me in her sights.  she's a cuddly baby who sometimes gives kisses when we ask, tries to clap with closed fists and giggles at her siblings.  she's free with her big grins and just generally makes life more pleasant.  i know that this baby phase won't last forever, and i will miss it someday, so i'm trying to enjoy every bit of it...minus the lack of sleep.  i refuse to enjoy that.  we love you brynn girl.

halfway to halloween

katelyn got invited to a birthday party with such a unique, fun theme.  it was a halfway to halloween birthday party.  all of the kids got to dress up in the middle of april.  it was a little tricky deciding what to wear though.  most of katelyn's costumes are now too small for her, so we were lucky that this cheerleading costume still fit perfectly.  honestly though, katelyn wouldn't have cared what she wore to the party.

together again and playing outside

tanner's neighbor friend who recently moved down the street came for a visit.  his mom went to the hospital to have her baby, so he was able to stay with us for the day.  these boys were in heaven to be back together again!  they spent all day running around between houses and playing outside, just like the old days.

reese loves, loves, loves to be outside.  she was very disappointed when i told her it was naptime.

reese won though and ended up getting to stay outside to play.  she skipped her nap that day much to my dismay later on when she was so tired she could barely stand it.

natural history museum

tyler had a random day off last month, so we decided to do something fun with the kids.  we really wanted to do something new, so we checked groupon and found a great deal to the natural history museum.

i admit, i was surprised that this ended up being as fun as it was.  i think natural history museums are great, but they can be geared more towards older kids leaving the younger kids bored.  but this natural history museum did a great job of having interactive activities for our young kids all through out the museum.  we ended up staying around 4 hours and still hadn't seen every last bit of the museum.
