katelyn goes to school

katelyn started first grade!  i actually wasn't there on her first day of school because i was still in the hospital, but i was able to be there for her second day.  this girl was definitely ready and excited to go!  the thing she was most excited about this year was getting to eat lunch in the cafeteria.

this year katelyn ended up with an amazing teacher.  we love her and love that so many of her friends are in her class with her. she is definitely in good hands.  we love and miss you each day katelyn.

at home

brynn is home safe and sound and now we are officially a family of six. that still sounds bizarre to me! i'm happy to be in my own bed again and am happy to be home with tyler and the kids. we'll see what adventures we have in store with this new little one.

visitors

we were able to have family come and visit with us in the hospital.  it was nice to see everyone, especially because the hospital can get a little boring for me.  no need to worry though, i'm certainly not bored anymore at home!

i was really excited to have my kids come and meet brynn for the first time.  reese really had no clue what was going on, but was happy to be there.

this is mostly what the kids wanted to do in the hospital.

the hospital

it was nice getting to spend some quiet time with brynn in the hospital getting to know her, cuddle her and love her all i wanted.

brindley jane

little brindley jane joined our family on august 18th, two days before my due date.  my water broke about 10:30 p.m. on the 17th, contractions started and we welcomed her to our family around 3:30 a.m.  she was 7 lbs even and 21 inches long.  she came out with a little dark hair and a very loud scream.  we love her already!

birthday party

  1. we celebrated katelyn's sixth birthday at our neighborhood splash pad. it was perfect because i didn't have to clean my house at all for the big event. katelyn and her friends loved running around between the water and the playground.

father's day

this posing idea came from pinterest.  not as well done as the original idea, but good enough for us.

happy father's day to one of the best dads we know.  i know i'm rather behind on blogging, but i am truly grateful for this man in my life, and i know his kids are as well.  he is a great role-model to our children, loves to play with them, spend time with them and do whatever else their little hearts desire.  love ya!
