warm weather

in march we were completely spoiled with gorgeous weather. i know it's been such a strange winter across the nation. i'm so glad wisconsin didn't miss out on all the fun.

while katelyn was away at school we took tanner out in the backyard to play.  tyler decided this would be good chance to teach him how to use his t-ball set.

tyler even had a go at hitting the ball.  he was a tad bit too big for it.

reese joined us outside as well.  she wasn't as excited about the warm weather.  in fact, it probably just helped her get to sleep.

once task master...er...katelyn got home she put tanner right to work pushing her in the car.

match day

match day definitely was a day we have looked forward to all year long.  the whole first half of fourth year was spent creating applications, figuring out which schools we wanted to apply to, spending lots of money so we could apply to those schools, flying out for interviews and eventually just waiting for this long anticipated day to see if we had matched.

match day was a very thrilling day.  everyone wanted to be there.  they basically put all of the envelopes all together and pull them out one by one announcing the name of the person it belongs to.  i must say, not only was it fun to get our own envelope, but it was really fun to be there celebrating with our friends as well to find out where they will all be heading soon.

you can probably tell from the pictures that we were excited!  tyler worked very hard these past four years and made it into the university of utah pm&r program.  we are excited to finally know where we will be for the next four years.

month of march

i think most of march was spent at home this year. mainly because i was (and still am) getting adjusted to three. it was my first real month of being on my own. really the only time i ever made it out of the house was when i was driving  katelyn to school.  but my kids are good at entertaining each other and me as well.

little miss katelyn has been my amazing helper.  what would i have done without her?  she has helped us a ton with reese and tanner.  i've been so grateful for her.

when my mom came to visit she brought moon dough for the kiddos to play with.  they've loved it!  tanner played with this almost every morning until i got sick of cleaning it up and hid it from him.   i'm sure i'll bring it out again soon.

one evening for our fhe game we taught the kids how to sumo wrestle.  it was hilarious to watch.  they loved bumping into each other and then having daddy tackle them to the ground.

i thought it would be fun to let the kids do some projects after reese arrived.  well, it really wasn't that fun and it really wasn't a good idea.  tanner enjoys himself too much.  the ending result is always one huge mess.

princess katelyn visits our house every.single.day.  princess katelyn happens to be very helpful.  she'll even vacuum for me.

since tanner loves katelyn and wants to do everything she does, tanner wanted to vacuum as well.  but, tanner has a slight fear of the vacuum.  he layed down in this spot and didn't take his eye off of the vacuum the whole time.

you see?  that sneaky vacuum.

tanner pulled the coffe table up to his rocking chair one morning then told me he wanted some lunch.  funny kid.

one month old

reesie is one month old.  at one month she is still as sweet as ever.  she is a calm baby who hardly ever cries or gets upset.  she loves to snuggle and loves to be warm, so at one month old she still dislikes bath time and getting her diaper changed (mostly the she dislikes the cold wipes).  she sleeps well and eats like a champ.  the kids love reese and love holding and kissing her, especially katelyn.  she is smiling at us, and we just adore it.  we love our reese!

a visit from tyler's mother

we were also so, so lucky to have tyler's mother come out and help with the kiddos.  we feel so grateful for her help as well!  we sure are so grateful to lori that she took time off of work to join us in wisconsin.
i can't deny that it was wonderful to be pampered a couple more days.  i didn't have to cook, clean, take care of the older kiddos, do any laundry...all because lori did it for us.  lori is amazing and did all of the hard work so we didn't have to.  and the kids loved getting spoiled with all of the attention from grandma.  i'm really fortunate to have such a great mother-in-law.  thanks lori for everything you did for us!  we love you.

a visit from my mother

we were so, so lucky to have my mom fly out to help us when reese was born.  i'm so grateful to my mother for coming.  i just know those first two weeks wouldn't have gone nearly as smooth as they did without her help.

it amazes me how much my mother did to help us while she was here.  she worked so hard to do our laundry, cook our food, clean our house, run our errands, finish up some of my un-finished projects, be our moral supports when we're tired and most importantly take care of the kiddos.  honestly it's amazing.  she worked so tirelessly while she was here.  i know she was tired when it was time to leave, but my mother never once complained.  i'm lucky to have such a great mother and even more lucky that she was willing to take time off from her own busy life to help us out as we welcomed reese into our family.  love you mom.

i really didn't take a ton of pictures during those first two weeks, but i did manage to get one of my mother entertaining the kiddos.  katelyn and tanner were helping my mom make some chocolate chip cookies.

the day my mom left.  reese is giving us an elvis impersonation.

the kids were eating some nerds and decided they wanted to take a picture with a nerd on their tongues.
